Sexual Abuse Recovery Group for Women
Sexual Abuse: There are few realities that evoke as much shame, despair, deadness, and rage. Honesty reveals that the effects are far-reaching,not only into one’s external self, but also deeply into the soul, cutting to the core of what a woman believes and how she relates to others, and, ultimately God.
The Sexual Abuse Recovery Group for Women is an in-person 10-week small group counseling opportunity for eight women, conducted in an accepting environment where past abuse and its effects can be safely discussed, and current styles of relating can be explored and understood.
The group will be led by Jeanenne McCloskey, MA, LPC, who has long had a heart for those who have struggled with the reality of sexual abuse.
Schedule: Tuesdays, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm from Feb. 4 to April 15 (Note: There will not be a session on March 11)
Location: Hope Church, 18850 Redland, San Antonio, TX 78259
Cost: $50 per week.

Because of the intense nature of the topic and the small group setting, participation in the group will be determined via a conversation with Jeanenne prior to beginning. If you register for the group Jeanenne will call you for a short conversation to discuss your participation in the group. This group is not intended to be a replacement for individual counseling but as another means to think through the issues of sexual abuse.
